La importancia de la tricología para el reconocimiento forense

Abstract

La tricología es una disciplina científica orientada al estudio del cabello y el cuero cabelludo, incluyendo su estructura, función y patologías, y ha adquirido relevancia en el ámbito forense debido a que los elementos pilosos, por sus características físicas, pueden hallarse en distintos escenarios, incluso de forma inadvertida, convirtiéndose en fuentes valiosas de evidencia. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la utilidad del análisis tricológico en el ámbito forense, destacando su aplicación como herramienta complementaria en investigaciones criminales. La investigación tuvo un enfoque cualitativo, con diseño transversal y documental retrospectivo, basado en una revisión bibliográfica de literatura científica publicada entre 2020 y 2025. Los resultados evidencian que, el análisis tricológico se apoya en técnicas como la microscopía óptica, electrónica y comparativa, el análisis de ADN mitocondrial y la toxicología capilar. La correcta recolección y conservación de muestras mediante materiales especializados garantiza la integridad de la evidencia, mientras que los avances tecnológicos, como la espectrometría de masas y métodos genéticos modernos, han mejorado la precisión y el valor probatorio del análisis capilar en el ámbito forense. En este marco, la tricología forense se posiciona como una técnica complementaria y confiable para el análisis de evidencias biológicas, con un alto potencial para contribuir a la administración de justicia mediante la identificación precisa y oportuna de personas vinculadas con actividades delictivas.
