Aggregated land use and housing indicators and socio-economic context variables for German municipalities (2005 - 2025)

Abstract

The provided dataset contains aggregated information about the building structures and land use in Germany as well as on social, economic and demographic variables. Variables come from different sources including the German census, Earth Observation (Global Human Settlement Layer, Urban Atlas), and regional statistics. Data have been aggregated on the municipal level and cover 100 variables (including 3 distinct identifiers) for 10995 municipalities. The temporal coverage varies depending on the source of the data, but falls within the timeframe of between 2005 and 2025. The first version of this dataset is password protected as it was embargoed for Datafest Munich 2025. Password: Datafest_MUC_2025
