The objective of the study was to analyze the effects of social capital aspects on the development of ecotourismin Tambaksari Village, East Java Province, Indonesia. Five latent variables related to social capital in tourismdevelopment, namely, trust, relationship, norm, participation and ecotourism development were analyzed usingStructural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the study showed that there was a relationship betweennetworking and ecotourism development, but there was no relationship between trust and ecotourismdevelopment. There was also no relationship between norms and ecotourism development. This research foundthat there was a relationship between community participation and ecotourism development. All these resultsshow that social capital is one of the fundamental aspects towards sustainable tourism scenarios in TambaksariVillage.
