Cerambycidae and Disteniidae (Coleoptera) from Ecuador: new genera, new species, new records, and corrections in species-group names.

Abstract

Vlasak J., Botero J. P. & Santos-Silva A., 2025. – Cerambycidae and Disteniidae (Coleoptera) from Ecuador: new genera, new species, new records, and corrections in species-group names. Faunitaxys, 13(13) : 1 – 14. https://doi.org/10.57800/faunitaxys-13(13) - https://zoobank.org/BF81645D-8965-4BDD-B0D4-B20653DFF5A6 Keywords. – Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Disteniidae, Kerasellum, Afti, Compsibidion, Longhorned beetles, description, taxonomy, new genus, new species, South America. Abstract. – Two new genera and three new species of Cerambycinae are described from Ecuador: Kerasellum afasciatum, gen. nov., sp. nov. (Tillomorphini); Afti citrinum, gen. nov., sp. nov. (Trachyderini); and Compsibidion zonatum sp. nov. (Tropidini), this latter is included in a previous key. Two species-group names in Compsibidion Thomson, 1864 are corrected and two new geographical records are reported. The current inclusion of Eudereces elachys Martins & Galileo, 2013 in Tillomorphites Vitali, 2011, is questioned in the remarks on Kerasellum gen. nov. Vlasak J., Botero J. P. & Santos-Silva A., 2025.
