This study focuses on the revision of the seismic actions of Eurocode 8 and its impact on the seismic design of industrial facilities in Greece. With respect to industrial facilities, the importance factors of the current version of Eurocode 8, used to address the seismic design for high return periods, are replaced by performance factors. We introduce analytically derived performance factors for high return periods that are compatible with the revised EC8 using the seismic hazard results from ESHM20. These analytical factors are compared with the respective recommended factors of the revised EC8. We compare the respective elastic response spectra at the locations of critical industrial sites in Greece.
