ESTUDO DA QUALIDADE FÍSICO-QUÍMICA DA ÁGUA DE POÇOS TUBULARES PELO USO DE UM FILTRO NATURAL FEITO COM CASCA DE ARROZ

Abstract

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo o estudo da qualidade físico-química da água de poços tubulares pelo uso de um filtro natural feito com casca de arroz. Foram analisados os seguintes parâmetros: pH, temperatura (ºC), alcalinidade (mg/L), acidez carbônica (em termo de CaCO3), cloro total, dureza total, de cálcio e magnésio (mg/L), cloreto (mg/L), o íon cloreto (Cl-), cor aparente (uH), condutividade elétrica (µScm-1), porcentagem de cinzas (20°C), sólidos totais dissolvidos (ppm a 25°C), ferro (mg/L) e odor. As amostras das águas foram coletadas em garrafas plásticas de dois litros em dois poços tubulares no município de Campina Grande-PB, e em seguida foram encaminhadas para o laboratório de Química (LQ) do Instituto Federal da Paraíba (IFPB), campus de Campina Grande-PB. Os métodos empregados para a análise das amostras seguiram os procedimentos do Instituto Adolfo Lutz. Após a passagem das águas pelo filtro natural, observou-se uma redução significativa dos seguintes parâmetros: alcalinidade (mg/L), acidez carbônica (mg/L), dureza total (mg/L), dureza de cálcio e magnésio (mg/L), cloretos (mg/L), condutividade elétrica (µScm-1), cinzas (% Cz a 20°C) e sólidos totais dissolvidos (ppm a 25°C). Percebeu-se uma eficiência do filtro natural com reduções significativas de todos os parâmetros analisados, com exceção da cor que houve um aumento devido a casca do arroz vermelho. Conclui-se, que as águas dos referidos poços não podem ser utilizadas para o consumo humano, pois a maioria dos parâmetros analisados está fora dos padrões permitidos pela Portaria de nº 2914/2011 e pela resolução de nº 396/2008.
