Abstract

Megalopinus minutatus nov.sp. (Abb. 24) Typus material: Holotypus (): Panama: Veraguas, 6,1 km N of Santa Fé, Cerro Tute, 8 o 30’30’’N, 81 o 7’0’’W, 140m, fungusy log, 13. VI. 1986, R. Brooks 127: im KSEM. Beschreibung Glänzend, schwarz, Elytren mit einem rötlichgelben Subhumeralband in der Vorderhälfte, zwei Punktreihen auf der Scheibe und wenigen Punkten am seitlichen Deckenabfall. Fühlerbasis und Beine rötlichbraun, Fühlerkeule braun. Länge: 2,7mm (Vorderkörperlänge: 1,55mm). PM des HT: HW: 33, 5; DE: 20; PW: 28, 5; PL: 25; EW: 38, 5; EL: 31, 5; SL: 25. Männchen: Unbekannt. Weibchen; 11. Fühlerglied leicht asymmetrisch, 3,5x so lang und 1, 25x so breit wie das 10. Glied (Abb. 24). 10. Tergit fein und weitläufig auf genetztem Grund punktiert. Kopf viel schmäler als die Elytren, Stirn ziemlich grob, wenig dicht punktiert, mit 17 Punkten. Pronotum deutlich breiter als lang, nur das vordere Seitenzähnchen vorspringend; Punktierung grob und ziemlich dicht, punktierte Querfurchen deutlich, nur die (von vorn) dritte in der Mitte gut punktbreit unterbrochen. Elytren vergleichsweise lang, die rötlichgelbe Makel befindet sich nur in der Vorderhälfte, sie erreicht knapp den Seitenrand, zur Naht hin wird sie undeutlich, vom Vorderrand der Elytren ist sie um gut ihre Breite getrennt; Punktierung: 3, 5, 3/2, 4, 4. Differenzial diagnose:DieseneueArt gehört in die caelatus -Gruppe und ähnelt hier am meisten dem M. minutus nov.sp. Von ihm unterscheidet sie sich durch ihre Elytrenfärbung, schmäleren Kopf und das grössere, leicht asymmetrische 11. Fühlerglied. Etymologie: Wegen ihrer geringen Grösse nenne ich diese Art "minutatus" (Lat. = klein gemacht).
