Abstract

ABSTRACT This research verifies the effects that a creative process is capable of causing in the subjectivity of its author, taking as its object the production of a show performed by the researcher himself, entitled Terra vista da Lua, and weaving an autoethnographic account that intends to show how not only the author makes the work, but the process of making an artistic work, in turn, also makes its author, insofar as it impacts its subjectivity. While writing, the behind-the-scenes procedures of the show are experienced and analyzed, from its conceptualization, through its assembly and ending with its circulation. The text intends to show how art can access a place in us that, more than interpretation, concerns events that exceed our capacity to symbolize the human experience in the world, comparing the report of the experience of the process described here, mainly to the concepts of modes of subjectivation, in Michel Foucault, and unfamiliar, in Freud. Thus, we conclude that art offers resources to expand our ability to narrate the world and sustain the restlessness of what cannot be put into words.
