CIRCULAÇÃO COLATERAL CEREBRAL NO ACIDENTE VASCULAR CEREBRAL ISQUÊMICO: UMA VISÃO NEUROANATÔMICA

Abstract

O cérebro possui emaranhados de neurônios, que quando sob deficiência de fluxo sanguíneo, causam sinais e sintomas em deficitários em todo o corpo. Através da oclusão dos vasos sanguíneos, a circulação é limitada, gerando o quadro de Acidente Vascular Cerebral Isquêmico (AVCI). Foram usados artigos derivados dos bancos de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) e US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed), além de livros de referência. Como resultados, o parênquima cerebral pode ser irrigado por duas vias de circulação colateral, extracraniana e intracraniana, e a fonte intracraniana se divide em primária e secundária. A relação entre o grau de colateralização e a previsão da evolução do infarto influencia no tamanho final da região atingida e na determinação da área de penumbra. Vias colaterais pobres geram quadros de hiperglicemia aguda e hipertensão, e vias colaterais ricas promovem maior perfusão de fármacos e agentes trombolíticos.
