Transducción de señales: de lo molecular a lo funcional

Abstract

La biología celular y la señalización molecular son áreas cruciales para comprender los procesos fisiológicos. Este libro nos sumerge en la intrincada comunicación intracelular que las células utilizan para coordinar sus funciones esenciales. Comenzando con una exploración en el capítulo 1 sobre los fundamentos de la comunicación celular, se explican los diferentes tipos de señales y receptores, estableciendo una base sólida. Los siguientes capítulos se centran en las proteínas clave involucradas en la transducción de señales, como las proteínas de andamio y las cinasas, y luego se adentran en detalles sobre los receptores acoplados a proteínas G, los receptores de factores de crecimiento, canales iónicos y GTPasas de bajo peso. Además, se explora cómo los receptores nucleares regulan la expresión génica y su participación en diversos procesos. El libro culmina en un capítulo sobre el entrecruzamiento de las vías de señalización, mostrando cómo estas interactúan en un sistema complejo. Ofrece recursos adicionales, casos clínicos y preguntas que enriquecen la comprensión.
