UTICAJ ISHRANE NA FITNES I FLUKTUIRAJUĆU ASIMETRIJU TELA SITOPHILUS ORYZAE (COLEOPTERA: CURCULIONIDAE)

Abstract

Pirinčani žižak, Sitophilus oryzae (Linnaeus, 1763) jedna je od najznačajnijih primarnih štetočina uskladištenih proizvoda u našim uslovima, koji prvenstveno infestira semena žitarica poput pšenice, kukuruza, ječma i pirinča. Prisustvo ove štetočine u merkantilnoj i semenskoj robi dovodi do velikih kvalitativnih (gubitak klijavosti, smanjen tehnološki kvalitet brašna, prisustvo eskrementata i egzuvija i drugo) i kvantitativnih (smanjena apsolutna masa i hektolitarska masa zrna) gubitaka. Ova vrsta je predmet mnogih istraživanja pre svega zbog svog ekonomskog značaja, međutim većina istraživanja se odnosi na biologiju i ekologiju štetočine i na mogućnost njenog suzbijana. U ovom istraživanju fokus je usmeren na procenu uticaja promene ishrane (host shift) na fitnes i fluktuirajuću asimetriju (FA) odraslih jedinki S. oryzae. Populacija S. oryzae je hranjena deset generacija na semenu pšenice, u kontrolisanim uslovima. Za potrebe istraživanja, po 200 jedinki iz populacije hranjene na pšenici (odnos polova 50:50), prebačeno je na seme kukuruza, u tipu zubana (T1) i seme sirka (T2) gde je nastavljeno razviće narednih pet generacija. Za kontrolnu populaciju (K) nastavljen je uzgoj na zrnu pšenice još pet generacija. Potom je iz svakog tretmana izdvojeno po 30 jedinki, koje su pripremljene za potrebe geometrijsko-morfometrijske analize FA. Geometrijsko-morfometrijskom analizom ventralne strane tela je utvrđeno da jedinke gajene na sirku imaju najveću, dok jedinke gajene na pšenici imaju najmanju vrednost FA. Dodatno, diskriminantnom analizom utvrđeno je postojanje signifikantnih razlika u asimetriji tela između populacija gajenih na pšenici i sirku, kao i izmedju populacija gajenih na kukuruzu i sirku. Između populacija gajenih na pšenici i kukuruzu ne postoji značajna razlika u asimetriji tela. Stoga, možemo zaključiti da promena ishrane sa pšenice na sirak predstavlja stes i utiče na razvojnu stabilnost pirinčanog žižka. Ovi rezultati su dodatno potkrepljeni analizom fitnesa, posmatranom preko produkcije potomstva. Produkcija potomstva se značajno razlikovala na pšenici i kukuruzu u odnosu na sirak i to nakon svakog meseca očitavanja. Nakon četiri meseca je bila četiri puta veća na pšenici (658) i kukuruzu (635) u odnosu na sirak (159 ispiljenih jedinki). Izneto ukazuje na izuzetan uticaj hrane na fitnes ove štetočine, kao i na to da razviće na nedgovarajućoj hrani utiče na stabilnost populacije S. oryzae, ali dovodi i do smanjenja brojnosti iste. Ovi rezultati dokazuju da narušena asimetrija tela može poslužiti kao sveobuhvatna mera narušene razvojne stabilnosti i fitnesa organizma.
