Distribuição Espacial Em Tabuleiro De Xadrez Em Cupins De Cerrado Sensu Stricto

Abstract

A distribuição espacial de cupins é fortemente influenciada pela disponibilidade de recursos e interações bióticas e abióticas. Eventos como competição e variações na disponibilidade de recursos podem gerar padrões de co-exclusão entre espécies competidoras ou co-ocorrência entre espécies mutualistas. O objetivo deste trabalho é testar se a taxocenose de cupins se distribui de acordo com o modelo de tabuleiro de xadrez. O trabalho foi realizado no Parque Estadual da Serra de Caldas Novas. Coletou-se 84 parcelas de 2 x 5 m, com distâncias de 5 a 100 metros entre si. A autocorrelação espacial entre parcelas foi avaliada com um autocorrelograma de Mantel e para verificar se as espécies se distribuíam em tabuleiro de xadrez foi utilizado o índice de co-ocorrência \textit{C-score) com a matriz de presença e ausência das espécies nas parcelas. Foram encontradas 57 espécies das famílias Termitidae, Rhinotermitidae e Kalotermitidae. Não houve autocorrelação espacial na composição de espécies de cupins (p > 0,05). Existe um padrão de distribuição espacial em tabuleiro de xadrez nas espécies de cupim (\textit{C-score} = 52,01; p = 0,01), mas não há tabuleiro de xadrez entre espécies de mesma guilda alimentar (p > 0,05). Conclui-se que a taxocenose de cupins estudada estrutura-se em tabuleiro de xadrez mas não devido a competição por alimento. Outras causas, como eventos aleatórios de colonização e heterogeneidade na disponibilidade de recurso podem ser os fatores causais da distribuição espacial das colônias de cupins.
