Eupentacta Fraudatrix

Abstract

Here we studied dexamethasone-induced changes in the apoptosis level, the production of reactive active oxygen species, and the antioxidant enzymes activity in phagocytes of two fractions (P1 and P2) from holoturian Eupentacta fraudatrix. We show that that dexamethasone has an opposite effect on apoptosis level in P1 and P2 due to modulation of the oxidant-antioxidant balance of these cells.
