Estimation of autonomous nervous system state remains the most difficult and unresolved problem of practical medicine. From the other side autonomous nervous system violations play the main role in pathogenesis of many diseases. Resolution can be found in using of unique anatomical and physiological features of the external ear which is tightly connected with brain stern and thalamocortical autonomous visceral regulating centers due to its extremely rich innervation by five nerves including vagus. Method of auricular cryotest based on evaluation and analysis of the cold sensitivity of auricular zones gives an express information of general autonomous nerveous system tonus as well as tonus, reactivity and functional activity of visceral systems and central nervous system. This method can be used in acupuncture as well as in any other medical specialty with the aim of early diagnostic of chronical diseases, dynamic observation, in prophylactic and sport medicine.
