Follow-up and Treatment Results in Terms of Psychomotor Development Retardation in 40 Infants Between 1-20 Months with Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Abstract

B 12 vitamin eksikliği vücudumuzda bir çok sistem üzerinde örneğin sinir sistemi, gastrointestinal sistem, kardiak sistem kas sistemi, iskelet sistemi ve immün sistem üzerinde olumsuz etkileri olabilir. Bölgemizde B12 vitamin eksikliği sık görülen bir durum olup bebek yaşta psikososyal, motor gelişimi bozabilmektedir; prospektif tasaralanan bu çalışmamıza; yaşı 1-20 ay arası değişen 40 bebek vaka ve B12 vitamin eksikliği saptamak amacıyla 40 anne alındı. Bebeklerden hemogram, serum B12 düzeyi, serum folat düzeyi ve psikososyal motor gelişimi değerlendiren DENVER-2 testi uygulandı. Aynı şekilde annedelerden serum B12 ve serum folat düzeyi ölçüldü. Serum B12 vitamin eksikliği saptanan bebeklere 3-6 ay sonra kontrol hemogram, serum B12 düzeyi ve Denver-2 testini tekrarladık; bebeklerin B12 tedavisine hızlı bir şekilde cevap verdiği laboratuvar değerlerin düzeldiği ve yapılan Denver-2 nörogelişim basamaklarda düzelme yönünde fark olduğu saptanmıştır.
