Planalto Central Brasileiro Como Barreira Biogeográfica Para Nasutitermes Kemneri (Termitidae, Nasutitermitinae)

Abstract

\textit{Nasutitermes kemneri} tem sua distribuição conhecida na região chamada de “diagonal de formação aberta” sul-americana englobando a Caatinga, Cerrado e Chaco. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo realizar a análise filogeográfica de \textit{N. kemneri}, a fim de entender os processos determinantes para a distribuição geográfica das linhagens e populações dessa espécie. Para isso, foi utilizado os genes mitocondriais 16S rRNA e COI, e a região nuclear ribosomal ITS (ITS1+5.8S+ITS2). Incluindo diversas sequências de outras espécies de \textit{Nasutitermes}, em análises filogenéticas tanto bayesianas como de verossimilhança, \textit{N. kemneri} foi recuperado como monofilético, e as populações dentro da espécie formaram dois clados estruturados geograficamente (populações norte/nordeste, e sudeste/centro-oeste) e em relação ao tipo de vegetação (Caatinga e Cerrado). A rede de haplótipos corroborou esses grupos. Através da Análise de Variância Molecular (AMOVA) foi encontrada, para o gene 16S, 74,06% de variação interpopulacional e 25,94% intrapopulacional (FST 0,74, p>0,001). Para COI, 74,48% de variação interpopulacional e 25,52% intrapopulacional (FST 0,74, p>0,001). E para ITS, apenas 4 haplótipos e sítios variantes, denotando pouco polimorfismo. Os resultados mostram uma interrupção no fluxo gênico entre as duas populações, sugerindo que tenha ocorrido isolamento das regiões da Caatinga e do Cerrado. Provavelmente esse isolamento se deu devido ao surgimento do Planalto Central Brasileiro, o que teria resultado na atual diferença de altitude e clima.
