Abstract

Der Nahe Osten gilt als Experimentierfeld der Moderne. Zwischen Bauhaus und Brutalismus entstanden hier bemerkenswerte Bauten. Ausgehend von den deutschen Wurzeln und der Entwicklung der Kibbuzim spricht der Architekt Philipp Oswalt – bis 2014 Direktor der Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau, heute Professor an der Universität Kassel – über die Besonderheiten der Nahost-Moderne. (Karin Berkemann, 30.8.23) Das Gespräch führte Karin Berkemann im Juli 2023 für den Tag des offenen Denkmals 2023.
