Abstract

La commune de Yopougon connaît une croissance démographique sans précédents. De 688 235 habitants en 1998, elle est passée à 1 571 065 habitants en 2021 (INS-RGPH, 1998 et 2021). Cet accroissement et la migration des populations entraînent son étalement. Ainsi, les espaces périphériques de la commune, tel que le quartier Azito, est devenu le nouveau front d’urbanisation méridional. Cependant, cette urbanisation, principalement à l’initiative du privé ne s’accompagne pas de services urbains. L’objectif de cette réflexion est d’analyser les enjeux de la recomposition spatiale liée à la mobilité résidentielle du périurbain de Azito. Pour y arriver, la méthodologie s’est appuyée sur la collecte et le traitement de données terrain. Les résultats de nos investigations révèlent que 39% des chefs de ménages enquêtés sont propriétaires contre 61% de locataires. Parmi les résidents locataires, 81% en ont effectué au plus 3 déménagements. Plusieurs motifs déterminent les mobilités résidentielles notamment la décohabitation, l’accès à la propriété, le processus d’adéquation entre la taille du ménage et celle du logement, le changement d’emploi et la mise en union. Dont l’une des conséquences est l’urbanisation rapide du périurbain Azito à l’effet d’habitations et de création d’activités économiques.
