Updated review of the freshwater molluscs in the lower Ebro (NE Iberian Peninsula). - The lower stretch of the Ebro River displays a high malacological diversity, given the presence of numerous mollusc species. However, there are not recent works dealing with this malacofauna, and the status of some species not cited from this stretch of the river during the last decades is unknown, particularly after the building of some big hydraulic infrastructures. In this study, the malacofauna of the lower Ebro River is re-evaluated, resulting in a total of 30 identified species, of which 12 are alien species and 6 are new citations for the study area.
