this paper represents a practical study on the development of the energy sector in the Republic of Moldova. The purpose of the research is to research the development of the electricity system of the Republic of Moldova. Following the research carried out, we can mention that the energy sector is extremely vital for ensuring national competitiveness. In the context of the energy crisis, we have witnessed important changes that have occurred recently in this sector. Thus, in order to overcome the effects of the energy crisis, the Republic of Moldova is going to remodel its management system in order to develop the tools, capitalize on the success factors in the energy system. The research methodology focused on the use of multiple methods such as: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abduction, comparative method, content analysis. At the same time, we must note the fact that there is a need to intensify the development, digitization, remodeling of the energy system of the Republic of Moldova, in order to increase its competitiveness. On the other hand, there is a need to increase investments in alternative sources of electricity, which will help companies become more independent and competitive.
