Enseñanza virtual para niños con necesidades educativas especiales

Abstract

Resumen Los sistemas educativos del mundo están enfocados en la inclusión de grupos vulnerables a la sociedad, y dentro de estos están los niños con necesidades educativas especiales. En Ecuador, están matriculados estos niños en todas las instituciones educativas, sin embargo, su incorporación es un reto para muchos docentes, por tal motivo se realizó la presente investigación, la cual tuvo como objetivo describir los beneficios de la enseñanza virtual para niños con necesidades educativas especiales en Ecuador, como herramienta de impacto para la inclusión. Teóricamente se fundamenta en la enseñanza virtual (Pando, 2018; Morales, 2018; Silva, 2017) y en las necesidades educativas especiales (Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador, 2012; Torres, 2000). Metodológicamente se enmarcó en el enfoque cualitativo, tipo descriptivo, con diseño documental bibliográfico; se establecieron las categorías: plataformas de código abierto para la enseñanza virtual, funcionalidades y beneficios. Como resultado se destaca la descripción de las funcionalidades de plataformas para la enseñanza virtual de código abierto tales como Moodle, ATutor, Chamilo, Claroline y SWAD; y los beneficios de estas a los estudiantes. Como consideraciones finales se asume que la enseñanza virtual para niños con necesidades educativas especiales en Ecuador, puede ser utilizada como herramienta de impacto para la inclusión debido a su funcionalidad y beneficios; se recomienda a los docentes adquirir competencias para el manejo de plataformas educativas comunes y el uso de estrategias novedosas.
