Relation between tree density/ urbanization and mosquito populations in Houston, Texas. This was done using a GitHub program to map out tree density in Houston, Texas, and ArcGis to map out the mosquito populations dispersed across Houston, Texas. The GitHub code was used to measure the tree density and land cover in Houston Texas. This was possible thanks to a machine learning model program that took uploaded tree canopy pictures and predicted their height, density, and location. ArcGIS was used to create a base map of Houston, Texas that contained all mosquito data in that area from databases such as iNaturalist and GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper.
