Abstract

Resumen El conocimiento del estudiante de periodismo sobre su entorno histórico y social, mantiene su vigencia en tiempos de cambios radicales por el impacto de las tecnologías, haciendo un aporte significativo en su formación integral. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue analizar el programa de la asignatura Historia Contemporánea de Venezuela del plan de estudio de la carrera Comunicación Social de la Universidad Católica Cecilio Acosta, en términos de las teorías sobre la reconstrucción de la Histórica inmediata y la democratización de la memoria social. La metodología corresponde a la investigación-acción-educativa. Los autores que fundamentan el estudio son: Blandiana (2020), Straka (2019), Palau-Sampio (2018), Velasco (2017), entre otros. Se concluye que hoy se ha hecho más visible el papel fundamental que tiene el periodista en la reconstrucción de la Historia inmediata y en la democratización de la memoria social; igualmente, la importancia de su formación con conocimiento de su entorno histórico y social. El programa analizado, carece de objetivos referidos a la Historia inmediata, a la Microhistoria y a los factores que comprende la Historia total. El nuevo programa deberá responder a estas necesidades y, atender, tanto los hechos históricos como su metodología científica. Se propone la crónica periodística como estrategia didáctica.
