Abstract

Abitudini alimentari scorrette e riduzione delle opportunità di pratica motoria quotidiana si configurano tra le cause principali delle malattie non trasmissibili nei bambini. L'età scolare rappresenta un periodo sensibile per lo sviluppo e l’adozione di atteggiamenti positivi verso stili di vita attivi. La pratica di attività motoria in età infantile agisce positivamente sui livelli di attività fisica con ricadute sulla sfera sociale ed emotivo-affettiva dei bambini. Numerosi studi scientifici e buone pratiche propongono l’introduzione di progetti multicomponente volti ad aumentare le opportunità dei bambini di essere attivi, capaci di coinvolgere molteplici settori istituzionali e contesti educativi. La quantità di tempo trascorsa a scuola dai bambini permette di considerare il contesto scolastico un setting ideale per proporre interventi orientati all’aumento dei livelli di attività fisica e alla promozione di sani stili di vita. Le pause attive rappresentano una delle possibili soluzioni in grado di espandere le opportunità di svolgere attività fisica nella scuola, considerabili come un dispositivo utile all’aumento del tempo d’impegno motorio degli studenti
