Abstract

Wer sich keine Kirche leisten kann, der leiht sich eine – und gibt sie weiter, wenn er sie nicht mehr braucht. Nach diesem Prinzip wurden im Rheinland in den 1960er Jahren “versetzbare Kleinkirchen” produziert. Aus einem Wettbewerb (1959) hatte man – nach verschiedenen Probebauten auch anderer Architekten – zwei Montagesysteme für die Serienfertigung ausgewählt: Vom zeltförmigen Typ A (Helmut Duncker mit Martin Görbing, Düsseldorf) entstanden so mindestens 27 Stück, vom flachgedeckten Typ B (Otto Leitner mit Johann Huf, Unterpfaffenhofen bei München) waren es mindestens acht Exemplare. moderneREGIONAL sprach mit dem Kunsthistoriker Dr. Martin Bredenbeck (LVR-Amt für Denkmalpflege im Rheinland) über die Besonderheiten der rheinischen Kleinkirchen.
