Este artigo discute a prática do hacking como expressão de um novo ativismo político, marcado pela incorporação dos hackers e das redes de comunicação. Para tanto, discute sobre as influências do anarquismo nessa militância política e remete-se aos coletivos WikiLeaks e Anonymous, a fim de identificar sua estrutura e modo de ação enquanto expressões do cyberativismo. A fim de lançar bases teóricas acerca do hacktivismo, levanta bibliograficamente reflexões sobre o tema. Conclui-se que o hacking é um novo ativismo político, pois visa a subversão da ordem de poder sobre a tecnologia e as formas de circulação de informação na sociedade global promovida pelo advento da internet.
