This is the dataset of our literature review study on Architecture Maintainability Smells. We provide the decisive exclusion criteria for excluded studies and the classification for included studies. Furthermore, we included all mentions of architecture smell names with their reference and our assessment of all architecture smell names. The additional material comprises the following documents: ExcludedLiterature.csv (ordered by title) list of all excluded references with title, exclusion criteria, authors, source, and DOI IncludedLiterature.csv (ordered by title) List of all included references with number of Maintainability smell names, number of architecture smell names, title, year of publication, authors source, and DOI AllMentionedSmellNames.csv (ordered by smell name) List of all smell names mentioned with the corresponding reference. The table includes the smell name, the decision if it is a maintainability smell, the title of the reference, year of publication, the definition of the smell, named aliases, authors, source, and DOI. EvaluationOfSmellNames.csv (ordered by smell name) List of all smell names, the decision about the classification, if applicable a generated new name, connection to the taxonomy, and classification whether it is a subclass/synonym, a code/design smell, violation, impacts another QA, represents a bad practice, represents a detection method, represents a cause, describes an organizational issue, or has no definition included in the reference. Additional_Material_MS_Taxonomy.xlsx Includes all the above as worksheets and includes the lists of synonyms, statistics for the generated diagram, and the taxonomy from Figure 6.
