Abstract

A alface é considerada uma das hortaliças folhosas mais importantes na alimentação dos brasileiros, possui expressiva importância econômica, influenciando na economia nacional. O uso de substratos alternativos na produção de mudas da alface ainda é pouco explorado. O desafio é fornecer a muda todos os nutrientes exigidos por sua fisiologia, boa aeração e água. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o desenvolvimento de mudas da alface crespa em diferentes substratos (esterco bovino, cascas de mandioca, carvão vegetal e terriço). As variáveis avaliadas foram: número de folhas, número de folhas definitivas, comprimento da parte aérea, comprimento da raiz, massa fresca da parte aérea, massa fresca da raiz, massa seca da raiz e massa seca da parte aérea. Os testes estatísticos utilizados foram o não paramétrica Kruskal-Wallis e post-hoc com ajuste de bonferroni. Os resultados sugerem que (cascas de mandioca e terriço) teve melhor resposta.
