PRODUÇÃO DE BIODIESEL A PARTIR DE ÓLEOS VEGETAIS, ÓLEOS RESIDUAIS E GORDURA ANIMAL: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA.

Abstract

Com o aumento crescente da população, associado ao aumento da energia consumida, os impactos ambientais resultantes da utilização de combustíveis fósseis e sua natureza finita, têm intensificado a necessidade de desenvolver novas fontes de energias renováveis. Em decorrência dessa necessidade, o biodiesel tem se tornado um excelente combustível alternativo e renovável em substituição aos combustíveis fósseis, como o diesel convencional. O biodiesel é obtido através de reações de transesterificação, craqueamento e hidroesterificação utilizando como matérias-primas: óleos vegetais, gorduras animais, óleos alimentares usados, entre outras fontes. Este trabalho baseou-se em uma revisão sistemática utilizando-se de diversas fontes de consulta, com o objetivo de mostrar os meios mais utilizados para produção e obtenção do biodiesel. Concluiu-se que os óleos residuais oriundos de frituras apresentam vantagens como matéria-prima na produção de biodiesel, pois dispensa o processo de extração do óleo (cunho tecnológico), custo da matéria-prima (cunho econômico) e destinação adequada de um resíduo (cunho ambiental). Dentre os processos utilizados na produção de biodiesel destaca-se o da transesterificação, principalmente os que utilizam de catálise básica, o qual permite diminuição do tempo de reação e aumento de velocidade da mesma.
