This work proposes a new system of composite slabs consisting of a permanent Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) formwork (TRC deck) with a trapezoidal section. A methodology for the design of composite slabs is presented and validated with experimental data. Finally, the methodology is used to design and conduct a parametric study based on the proposed system of composite slabs in this work. The results indicated that the design methodology was able to estimate the load-carrying capacity of the composite slabs subjected to bending with average errors of 10%. The use of TRC deck presents great potential, with an average increase in flexural load capacity of 10% due to variations in geometry and average increases of 113.3% and 302.3% when going from 2 layers of FRP reinforcement to 3 and from 2 to 4 layers, respectively.
