Remarks 1) The locality “Ega” mentioned by Crotch (1876) currently corresponds to “Tefè”, in the state of Amazonas, North Brazil (Alvarenga 1994), and we use the name Tefé, rather than Ega, throughout the text. 2) The penile flagellum of Mycotretus balteatus has a flagellar ring-shaped head, similar to that present in other Mycotretus (e.g., M. pygmaeus, M. deyrollei, M. maculatus).
