Original description: Nemacheilus turcmenicus Berg, 1932: 149, fig. 1 [Kelte-chinar River (Cherokh River) near Gyaurs (37°47‘N, 58°44‘E), Turkmenistan; syntypes: ZIN 11064 (3)].— Afghanistan synonyms: None.—Revisions: Berg (1949: 876) as synonym of Nemacheilus sargadensis Nikolskii, 1900; Freyhof et al. (2015: 17).—Illustration: Berg (1932: fig. 1) as Nemacheilus turcmenicus. Status in Afghanistan. This species not recorded from Afghanistan, however, it is distributed in joining waterways with Afghanistan (Coad 1995; Mousavi Sabet et al. 2015,).—Afghanistan materials: None.
