The article highlights the results of the analysis of psychological and psycholinguistic studies of the teacher’s communicative and speech activity. It is noted that the teacher’s speech communication determines the individual originality of communicative behavior and is expressed in the process of speech and pedagogical communication. It is shown that the teacher’s communicative and speech activity includes various modern technologies and is not reduced to the concept of communication. It has been found that speech-communicative semantic interaction between the teacher and students ensures the organization of purposeful speaking and listening in a specific situation of the pedagogical process. The teacher (speaker) encodes the desired changes in students’ minds in the form of a speech message. It has been established that the highest form of teacher’s speech communication is communicative speech activity and is defined as an activity of socially oriented communication, as a system of speech actions that ensures the interaction of its subjects with the social environment.
