Abstract: Since the Asian financial crisis occurred in 1998, the GDP growths of East Asian countries had been inconsistent only from 1999 to 2008, which are suitable for exploring the relationship between economic indicators and bank survival. After analyzing the data, it is found that the survival of banks in Vietnam and the Philippines is only related to national economic and financial performance. The survival of banks in South Korea, Indonesia, and Malaysia is only related to the financial performance of banks. The survival of banks in other countries is related to both indicators.
