Abstract

Belajar pada hakekatnya merupakan kegiatan yang dilakukan secara sadar untuk menghasilkan suatu perubahan, menyangkut pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap maupun nilai-nilai. Manusia tanpa belajar, akan mengalami kesulitan dalam menyesuaikan diri dengan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, seni dan budaya (IPTEKS) yang tidak lain juga merupakan produk kegiatan berpikir manusia-manusia pendahulunya. Tuntutan untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan yang selalu berubah dan merupakan tuntutan kebutuhan manusia sejak lahir sampai akhir hayatnya; dengan demikian belajar merupakan tuntutan hidup sepanjang hayat manusia (lifelong learning). Dalam mempertahankan kehidupannya, manusia harus mempunyai bekal kecakapan hidup (skill of life), yang dapat diperoleh melalui berbagai proses belajar, seperti: a) belajar beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa (learning to believe & convince Allah SWT); b) belajar untuk ‘mengetahui’ (learning to know), c) belajar untuk ‘melakukan’ (learning to do); d) belajar untuk ‘menjadi diri sendiri’ learning to be myself); dan e) belajar untuk ‘hidup bersama’ (learning to life together). Belajar beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, diharapkan akan dapat menjadi anak yang sholeh & berakhlak baik; belajar untuk ‘mengetahui’ dan ‘melakukan’ diharapkan dapat menciptakan manusia-manusia yang produktif dan kreatif; belajar untuk ‘menjadi diri sendiri’ diharapkan dapat menciptakan manusia-manusia yang percaya pada kemampuan diri sendiri; sedangkan belajar untuk ‘hidup bersama’ diharapkan dapat menciptakan manusia-manusia yang mempunyai ‘daya saing’, ‘daya penyesuaian’ dan ‘daya kerjasama’ yang tinggi. Ke-lima jenis belajar tersebut harus dilakukan oleh manusia, jika ingin tetap dapat bertahan hidup (survive), yaitu sejak mulai lahir hingga akhir hayatnya
