PROTECT. Un progetto per la città di Siena

Abstract

Lo studio archeosismologico dei centri storici collocati in aree sismiche permette una conoscenza più o meno approfondita degli effetti di alcuni specifici terremoti sulle componenti materiali e fornisce dati di assoluto interesse sulle dinamiche sociali, economiche e politiche scaturite a seguito di tali eventi. In questo filone di indagine si inserisce il progetto PROTECT – Knowledge for PReventiOn. Technique for reparing seismic damage from medieval period To modern era, finanziato dal programma di ricerca e innovazione Horizon 2020 dell’Unione Europea con una Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, che mira all’applicazione, in via del tutto sperimentale, dei metodi di analisi archeosismologica al centro storico di Siena, in Toscana, in funzione di una approfondita conoscenza del contesto di studio sotto il profilo della prevenzione sismica. Il progetto, a livello metodologico, si basa sull’applicazione e sulla sperimentazione della lettura archeologica degli effetti dei terremoti sull’edilizia storica cittadina seguendo una visione con scale di approfondimento diversificate nello studio delle architetture presenti all’interno delle mura cittadine del contesto senese. L’obiettivo del progetto è quello di creare un protocollo operativo di lettura archeosismologica per un centro cittadino, o per una porzione di quest’ultimo, per poi esportare tale modello anche ad altre realtà italiane ed europee nell’ottica della conoscenza, salvaguardia e tutela del patrimonio storico dal rischio sismico.
