Abstract

R E S U M O Quando conhecemos o nosso corpo, compreendemos nossas habilidades e capacidades. Tudo começa na infância, desde os primeiros passos à primeira refeição sozinho(a), e o nosso desenvolvimento motor avança de acordo com os estímulos que recebemos. Na escola, a criança aprende a segurar um lápis e assim a escrever suas primeiras palavras e textos, começa a se comunicar com o mundo pela escrita; já, ao andar de bicicleta, precisa de equilíbrio, e tudo isso faz parte do seu desenvolvimento que ocorre não só no lar da criança, mas também através de atividades exercidas por ela em sala de aula. A psicomotricidade ajuda a criança a ser independente no meio social e a realizar movimentos importantes para o resto da vida. A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica com uma abordagem qualitativa, mostrou-se a importância da psicomotricidade nos anos iniciais da educação infantil. Observa-se nas leituras iniciais sobre o tema, que a ausência ou a presença do trabalho com a psicomotricidade influência na vida das crianças em diferentes ambientes. Assim, buscou-se ampliar os conhecimentos sobre como trabalhar também esses movimentos, relacionando-os à cognição e ao emocional de uma forma aditiva no aprendizado das crianças.
