Kars İlindeki Atlarda Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi Virüsünün Moleküler Olarak Araştırılması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Kars ilindeki atlarda, Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi virusunun prevalansının Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) metodu ile belirlenmesidir. Atlar; insanoğlunun yaşamına girdikleri ilk günden bugüne kadar her zaman önemli bir yere sahip olmuşlardır. At popülasyonunda ağır kayıplara neden olan Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi (Equine Infectious Anemia, EIA), Dünya Hayvan Sağlığı Örgütü (OIE) tarafından bildirilmesi gereken at hastalıklarından biri olarak listelenmiştir. Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi Virusu (Equine Infectious Anemia Virus, EIAV), atlarda kalıcı bir enfeksiyona yol açtığından atçılık endüstrisi için bir engel olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Kars yöresinde küçük aile işletmelerinde 120 attan uygun şekilde kan örnekleri alınmıştır. Kan örneklerinden RNA ekstraksiyonunu takiben, Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi Virusuna spesifik primerlerle nested RT-PCR analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. İncelemesi yapılan atların tamamı Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi virusu yönünden negatif bulunmuştur. Ülkemizde de bildirilmesi gereken hastalıklar arasında yer alan Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi’nin Kars ilindeki atlarda olmadığı gözlenmiştir. Ülkemizin Atların İnfeksiyöz Anemisi Virusun' dan sürekli olarak ariliğini sağlamak için ülke genelinde at popülasyonunun düzenli olarak izlenmesi gerektiği önerilmektedir.
