This research paper investigates the challenges and opportunities for the inclusion of the unorganized workforce in the organized sector. The unorganized workforce, which includes informal and self-employed workers, lacks social protection, job security, and access to basic rights such as minimum wages, health benefits, and pensions. The paper reviews the existing literature on the subject and explores the factors affecting the inclusion of the unorganized workforce in the organized sector, including legal and regulatory frameworks, institutional capacity, and market demand. The paper also highlights the potential benefits of inclusion, such as increased productivity, higher wages, and improved working conditions. Using a case study approach, the paper analyses successful models of inclusion in India and other developing countries, and identifies key lessons learned. The paper concludes that inclusive policies and practices can lead to a more equitable and sustainable economy, and recommends a range of policy options to promote the inclusion of the unorganized workforce in the organized sector.
