36. Ligustrum groffiae Merr. (Oleaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 15(3): 253. 1919. TYPE:— CHINA. Guangdong: Shiuchow, 24 April 1919, To Kang P’eng 60 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 2820) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00073995 image!, NY 00149523 image!). The name Ligustrum groffiae Merr. was validly published with a gathering “ To Kang P’eng 2820 ” designated as the type (Merrill, 1919). However, on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A, the collecting number is 60 and the herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 2820. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the designation of type is to be corrected.
