AFECTACIÓN SOCIOECONÓMICA POR PARÁSITOS EN OSTIÓN DE MANGLAR, Crassostrea rhizophorae (GUILDING, 1828) EN ECOSISTEMAS DE MANGLAR DE ISLA DEL CARMEN, CAMPECHE, MÉXICO

Abstract

Objetivo: identificar los parásitos en se encuentra el ostión de manglar Crassostrea rhizophorae en la Laguna de Términos, Campeche. México, e indagar las posibles afectaciones sociales y económicas a causa de estos. Método: se colocó un transecto lineal de 20 m de longitud en el borde del manglar donde se recolectaron al azar, 60 individuos de ostión previamente etiquetadas las bolsas de muestreo. Se observó al microscopio estereoscópico la presencia de parásitos en distintos órganos. Se realizó la identificación taxonómica hasta el menor nivel de categoría posible. Resultados: se observaron infestaciones de protozoarios (Perkinsus marinus) con prevalencia del 71.66% de las ostras, copépodos: 26% (Pseudomyicola spinosus, Eucyclops s.p) y dos ácaros no identificados en dos individuos diferentes. Existió alta prevalencia de protozoarios en los ostiones, la zona de muestreo fue alta en contaminación de parásitos y la diversidad fue baja. Discusión: se necesitan estudios de carga parasitaria de organismos con potencial de cultivo, ya que se requiere tener una base sólida, como es el caso de este estudio, enfocado en el ostión Crassostrea rhizophorae. El transporte de moluscos bivalvos sin antecedentes a diferentes zonas, puede fomentar la disminución de poblaciones naturales, o bien, introducir agentes de enfermedades infecciosas a nuevas poblaciones. Conclusiones: se indica el primer reporte de parasitismo por P. marinus y P. spinosus en el ostión de manglar en el sureste mexicano y extiende la distribución geográfica conocida de esta acaro parasitando al ostión del manglar.
