ANEMIA EN MENORES DE CINCO AÑOS: FACTORES ASOCIADOS DE RIESGO

Abstract

Objetivo: relacionar los factores de riesgo demográficos, socioeconómicos, domiciliarios y de saneamiento ambiental, dietéticos y patológicos con la anemia en niños de 6 meses a 5 años en la estrategia de CRED del Hospital Santa María del Socorro de Ica. Método: se realizó un diseño biomédico de estudio descriptivo, correlacional, de diseño transversal. La población fue 303 niños. Resultados: los niños indicaron que el 67% presentó nivel de hemoglobina normal, 32% anemia leve y 1% anemia moderada. El 52% tenían edad entre 6 a 12 meses. El 31% consumen comida rápida, 58% no tienen seguro de salud, 52% son niñas, 22% tuvieron parasitosis, 14% tuvieron desnutrición, 38% presentaron EDA y el 58% IRA, alguna vez. En cuanto a las madres, el 48% tenía entre 20 a 30 años de edad, 64% proceden de zona rural, 82% tienen de uno a dos hijos, 48% trabajan, 42% solteras, 74% católicas, 62% con instrucción secundaria, 58% ganan menos de 900 soles al mes, 30% viven en casas de adobe, 80% comparten habitación entre 3 a 4 personas, 94% cuentan con agua potable, 18% queman los residuos sólidos, 28% tuvieron anemia en el embarazo. Discusión: el 33% de los niños presentaron anemia donde el nivel socioeconómico de la madre fue limitante. Conclusiones: la zona de procedencia, el número de hijos, grado de instrucción de la madre y las infecciones respiratorias agudas fueron factores que se relacionaron con la anemia.
