SALUD FORESTAL E IMPACTO AMBIENTAL Y SOCIOECONÓMICO

Abstract

Los organismos asociados a ambientes forestales como insectos, plantas parásitas y microorganismos (hongos, bacterias, nemátodos, etc.) desempeñan funciones muy importantes a nivel ecosistema y contribuyen a mantener la estructura y función de las masas forestales. Sin embargo, bajo condiciones de degradación ambiental, cambio climático y/o invasión de especies exóticas estos organismos se pueden convertir en plagas y enfermedades que ponen en riesgo la salud de los árboles en los diferentes escenarios forestales. En las últimas décadas los problemas fitosanitarios forestales han aumentado drásticamente en México y en muchos países del mundo convirtiéndose en autenticas contingencias ambientales. La pérdida de los bosques genera impactos negativos desde los puntos de vista ambiental y socioeconómico. El objetivo de la ponencia es describir los principales agentes que afectan la salud forestal en México en bosques templados, tropicales, plantaciones comerciales bosque urbanos y manglares y se discutirán las posibilidades de manejo bajo un esquema de manejo integrado de plagas y enfermedades forestales. Se presentarán resultados de las investigaciones más recientes generadas en México.
