This mwr_pro software enables the automatic re-processing of ground-based microwave radiometers (MWR) as developed at the University of Cologne. It runs with raw data from MWR of the manufacturer Radiometers Physics (RPG). It creates netcdf files containing level1 brightness temperatures (TB) as well as level2 files with liquid water path, integrated water vapor, temperature and humidity profiles including quality flags as well as uncertainty estimates. It is designed to run in a linux environment and requires IDL as programming language. This tool has been the basis for reprocessing activities of internationally deployed MWRs. Newer software developments are currently underway, e.g. in the European Research Infrastructure ACTRIS or the European E-PROFILE project within EUMETMET.
