Python bivittatus distribution covers northeastern India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, southern China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Bali, Java, Nusa Barung, Sulawesi, Sumbawa in Indonesia (Wallach et al. 2014). As such, specimen NMW-15571 donated by Steindachner around 1874, which has the locality Singapore, was most likely traded or shipped through Singapore. LKCNHM & NHMUK Museum specimens. No specimens.
