Macro-Energy Systems (MES) is an emergent field and research community that focuses on large-scale, systems- level, long-term aspects of energy systems and their implications for other systems, including the environment, economy, and human wellbeing. The 2022 MES Workshop brought together 62 people for sessions including lightning talks, two keynotes, ideation, and a community meeting. The workshop was very successful in its main goals of building networks among MES researchers, producing a list of key research topics and needs, and identifying priorities for future community-building activities.
