MERIT Hydro IHU is a global hydrography datasets, upscaled from the 3 arcsec resolution MERIT Hydro using the Iterative Hydrography Upscaling (IHU) algorithm (Eilander et al.,2021). The data is available at three resolutions: 30 arcsec (~1 km); 5 arcmin (~10 km) and 15 arcmin (~30 km). It contains the following layers: flow direction, subgrid area, subgrid river length, and width, hydrologically adjusted elevation, upstream area and stream order. The code to derive the dataset is included in the merit_hydro_src.tar.gz file. Update May 2023: For the 30 arsec resolution a vectorized basin file is included which can be used as basin index for HydroMT.
