What do we know about? Citizen science platforms (CSPs) and citizen observatories (COs)

Abstract

CSPs-COs have been positioning themselves as an important part of the development of citizen science. COs outside of the realm of citizen science have been operating for decades as instruments of public participation in both social and environmental monitoring fields. ICTs and new technologies increase the exponential impact of CSPs-COS. There are great expectations about their ability to impact the performance of citizen science, as a research infrastructure and as a way to facilitate the governance of commons resources. Poster presented in the European Citizen Science Conference - ECSA Conference 2022.

Keywords
