Abstract

Presentation at Acfas workshop, 11 May 2023 Conférence au colloque Acfas 15 - Perspectives sur la publication et les revues savantes : évolution du libre accès, des pratiques d’évaluation et des nouvelles possibilités de recherche, 11 mai 2023 Le modèle auteur-payeur, dans lequel les auteurs doivent payer des frais de traitement des articles pour être publiés, crée des inégalités et des barrières qui excluent de nombreuses personnes du processus de la recherche, particulièrement dans les disciplines et institutions sous-financées. Nous présenterons des données démontrant l'augmentation des articles publiés en libre accès par les cinq grands éditeurs ainsi que des estimations des frais payés au Canada et dans le monde. Nous examinerons également comment l'introduction de nouveaux modèles commerciaux, tels que les accords de transformation, perpétue les inégalités existantes et nous discuterons des moyens de rendre le passage à l'OA équitable et durable.
