MAUS-TRATOS E OUTRAS FORMAS DE VIOLÊNCIA NA FORMAÇÃO MÉDICA: DA CARACTERIZAÇÃO À DENÚNCIA

Abstract

RESUMO A prevalência de assédio e discriminação contra estudantes de medicina em todo o mundo é alta. Entretanto, a proporção de alunos que sofre violência é significativamente maior do que a proporção de alunos que relatam formalmente o incidente. Esta pesquisa objetivou estimar a prevalência de denúncia da violência sofrida e o grau de satisfação com o desfecho pelos estudantes de medicina. Estudo transversal realizado com 831 estudantes de medicina de instituições pública e privada. As frequências absolutas e relativas das variáveis analisadas e possíveis associações foram determinadas por meio de regressão logística uni e multivariada. O teste qui-quadrado de associação com ajuste de segunda ordem de Rao-Scott também foi utilizado. A taxa de participação foi de 56%. A prevalência de episódios de violência foi maior na instituição pública (59% versus 43%), mas as taxas de notificação foram extremamente baixas em ambas instituições, cerca de 10% na privada e 4% na pública. Aproximadamente 72% dos estudantes justificaram que achavam que nada seria feito a respeito e 47% não denunciaram por medo de represálias. Entre os que denunciaram, apenas 10% na instituição privada se sentiram satisfeitos com o desfecho e condutas da coordenação/direção do curso e, na pública, nenhum aluno se sentiu satisfeito com o desfecho.
